Capsule for the Day

Greg is a rich man. He has everything money can buy. He has beach houses in six countries. He was a man most women desire. Rich! Soft spoken! Kind! Intelligent and hard working. He was the envy of his friends and acquaintances. "I will do anything it takes to have a second of Greg's life", one of his friends said. "I don't think he has problems".

While many saw Greg as a happy man, Greg felt differently. He felt insecure. He had serious family problems. He had many sleepless nights. His extravagant life style was a symptom of his psychological condition. Greg was a sad man. He appeared calm and soft spoken because of his job training. His appearance was deceptive of the inner man.

Many of us are carried away by the looks of others. I want to be Mr. B or Mrs. C. See, he/she has a perfect life. So, we put ourselves down because we aren't like others. We become slaves to appearance. Easter is about what is real. We don't need to be like others. All we need to do is to bring our real self to the real God who raises us up (Acts 2:24).
