Capsule for the Day

Mark 1:12 is a very dramatic text. "The Spirit", the text says, "immediately drove Him (Jesus) into the wilderness". For all we know from Mark, the wilderness is a habitat of the wild beast. Why would the Spirit of God drive the Son of God into the wilderness? Did the Spirit not know?

The Truth is the Spirit knows the wilderness is the habitat of evil. He drove the Son there not to become evil but to triumph over evil. The Spirit knows the Son and the Son knows Him. And They both know evil has no power over the Good. Evil tarries but for awhile and then it’s overcome.

Friends, we are sons and daughters of the Father. We might have found ourselves in the wilderness of many wild beasts like addictions, bitterness, unforgiveness etc. While the torments of these beast may tarry, we have stand firm with the Father like Christ did to overcome evil within.
