Homily - Daily Capsule - Fr Francis Afu

Capsule for the Day

"If God isn't your God, then something or someone else is." There is nothing like a godless person. Every person believe in something or someone. We are either worshipping God or a god. But to believe in the living God, the God who is Father and Creator changes the way we live... everything.

God isn't a god among many other gods. He is the God, a name that has its root in the German word meaning Good. Thus, to believe in God means to believe in the Good. And one can't believe in the Good without being transformed by the Good. Believing is very powerful. It transforms us.

If God is your God, the Good is manifested. He fathers you. He guides you to greener pastures. He leads you through the valley of the shadow of death and you shall fear no evil. He sets a table in sight of your enemies, that is, He honours you. Goodness and mercy shall follow you forever.
