Capsule for the Day

Honour is dignifying. It dignifies the person being honoured, and the one that honours. For example, children who honour their parents are being honoured by their actions. Besides, by honouring their parents, their parents in turn honour them. In other words, honour begets honour.

If honouring our parents or our fellow human being begets honour, imagine the benefit of honouring God. He blesses those who honour Him and takes delight in honouring those who honoured Him and His name. David honoured the Lord, the Lord honoured him; his dynasty reigns forever.

Whenever the Israelites honoured the Lord, they lived in peace. They experienced economic progress and they lived to enjoy the fruits of their labour. And so it is with any man, any woman who honours the Lord. He raises them and honours them in return. The Lord honours all who honour Him.
