Capsule for the Day
"Our praise adds nothing to His GREATNESS, but it profits us for salvation". This line captures the essence of praise and thanksgiving. When we praise God or thank Him, we aren't doing Him a favour, we are actually doing ourselves a favour. Our praise opens us to God's surprises.
Praise is an art of acknowledging God for who He is. He is the Creator. He is the Father. He is the Father who keeps His promises. One who never fails and never tells a lie. He is the God of the living. The act of praise opens us to know God and by knowing God, we know ourselves.
Thanksgiving on the other hand, is an art of acknowledging what God has done. "He created me and called me to greatness long before I was born. He healed me when I prayed to Him. He provided for me when I had nothing." Remembering this helps me to live with confidence in the present.
