Capsule for the Day

I have come to appreciate the wisdom of this quote "if you can teach your child how to pray and if he or she makes prayer his or her way of life, you have done your work as a parent". Initially, I felt this is too minimal. A parent should teach his or her child how to make money, be a celebrity...

But money, the hall of fame, all fall apart when the reality of life sets in. Money doesn't have answers to the big questions of life: why should I live and not commit suicide. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Who am I? How shall I live my life and be happy? What is love and why should I love?

But prayer leads us to The Answer of these questions. Prayer from another perspective is our journey home. The parable of the prodigal son comes alive here. His whole life is a story of prayer, a journey home. When he got home, he found the answer to the questions: "why did I leave home? Why did come back?"
