Capsule for the Day

We have all made mistakes; some more terrible than others. The temptation is to feel our mistakes are the worst, that they are beyond redemption. No one will understand or accept us when they know what we have done or said. We live our lives believing we can't be any good.

It would be wrong to deny the severity of our past mistakes. It was wrong what we did. We shouldn't have done it. However, it is also wrong to believe that we are the sum of our mistakes. Or, to believe that past failures mean future failure. The Maths doesn't add up. We are more than our mistakes.

Everyday, the sun rises, ushering us into a new world or giving us a new life. The night comes to bury the past. We should let go the past with the dusk and rise at dawn with the Son, the light that defeats darkness. We aren't children of the night. We are children of the Light, the Living God.
