Capsule for the Day

In recent times, I have found praying for others a rich source of blessing. It's what God expects of us. He created us to look outward, to think of others, to pray for them. He doesn't want us to be so preoccupied with our concerns and worries that we forget that others exist and they need us.

One of the things I have found is when we begin to pray for others, we begin to appreciate our situation and circumstance. We begin to see more than what we are going through or what has happened to us. We also begin to see the hand of God in our lives. And we begin to live differently.

Put it this way, the One we are following spent His life praying for others. His very last prayer was for others - "Father forgive them for they don't know what they are doing". He could have said "see what I am suffering, destroy all who caused me this pain". But He looked out, He saw the other.
