Homily - Daily Capsule - Fr Francis Afu

Capsule for the Day

God never holds back anything from us. He gives us everything we need. He even prepares a rich banquet for us. He goes the extra mile to invite us to come and feast at no cost. He even sent his own servants to remind us to come and feast. What could God has done that He hasn't done?

It is very easy to blame God for any conceivable problem or difficulty. But the question is, have we responded to His invitation to come and feast with Him. Again, the question of trust comes to mind. If we trust Him, we will respond to Him knowing "for Him to have invited us means He trust us".

But since sin entered into the world in the Garden of Eden trust was broken; humanity has to rebuild trust at every given circumstance. The man without a garment in Matthew 22:1-14, is metaphorically the man without trust. For trust, love clothes us (I Peter 4:8). He was silent because he didn't trust.
