Capsule for the Day

We live in a world where distance has been bridged by technology. We have social media and other platforms that make it easier for us to reach out to others and to keep in touch. Ordinarily, one wouldn't expect the rate of loneliness to be so high in our time. But reality shows loneliness is high.

Loneliness doesn't just affect us emotionally, it also affects us medically. It cost a fortune to be lonely. Somehow, we all want to belong: to be accepted and to be part of a group that truly cares and loves us. But we can't just sit and wait for this group to come to us. We have to go to them.

There are two powerful antidotes to loneliness: love and God. To overcome loneliness, one has to love. One has to stop the pity party, go out and be a friend to someone else. If you are lonely because you are rejected, go out and accept someone. And to love sincerely, one needs God.
