Capsule for the Day

Present day society can be described in one sentence "we create our own reality". Reality isn't something out there for us to encounter, discern and accept. Reality is what I create and name. There are no rights, no wrongs. There are only feelings. You can't judge my feelings. I created them.

On one hand, this is very liberating and empowering. It means we get to take responsibility for our feelings. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case. When the feelings are bad, we blame it on others. They weren't sensitive to my feelings. They don't care. But how would they care?

The challenge is "we want something without wanting it at the same time". It is kind of self-contradictory, but somehow, that is what our society is reflecting. And it isn't helpful. Could this be the reason for the high rate of angst? Would we be better off when we return to being creatures of God?
