Capsule for the Day

There is a drive in us for success, to stand out and to be popular. No one likes failure. We all want to succeed in what we do. God wants us to succeed too. He has endowed us with what it takes to be successful. In fact, our whole make-up is success oriented. We were born for greatness.

But success for the sake of success is meaningless. It is flirtatious and it de-personalises us. There is a distinction between success as an art of self-actualisation and success as compensating for our emptiness and godlessness. In the later, we pursue success to resolve our restlessness.

True success is faithfulness to who we are, where we have come from and where God wants us to be. Success in this sense, makes us more human and contented. It frees us up for the Lord and His purposes. It isn't obsessive or addictive. It is simply the revelation of God’s Greatness.
