Capsule for the Day

"So far, I have been able to pray graciously". Those are the words of Edith Stein to her superior while in the concentration camp. Wow! Where's did this confidence come from? Definitely, it wasn't self-confidence. It is what I call God-confidence. It is a confidence that comes from trusting.

So far, I have been able to pray graciously in the heart of the wickedness of my brothers and sisters. She didn't look at what they were doing to her, she looked at what God was doing through their actions. He was in the art of "child bearing". And that is the secret of her gracious prayer.

As a person, my biggest problem is I get angry in the midst of wickedness. But I have learned from Edith Stein not to be angry. I should be gracious. I should pray graciously because God is up to something. Wickedness doesn't have the last word. God does. Since He does, I should trust Him.
