Homily - Daily Capsule - Fr Francis Afu

Capsule for the Day

It isn't just about where do you look from. It is also about where do you pray from. Do you pray from authority? The rhetorical question is which authority? The authority of being a son or a daughter of the Father. Not many of us know the authority we have as sons and daughters of God.

For if we do, we will be praying differently. We will be praying with confidence, knowing that the Father will do what He says He will do. Prayer will then be our first call not our last resort. For the authority we pray from is from above and it is based on a promise "ask and you shall receive...."

Kerry always prays from authority. When something comes up, her first statement is "I know You (God) and I can handle this". She is so confident of God that she tells Him everything. When her doctor announced she had six more months to live, she used her authority and it is 26 years today.
