Capsule for the Day

I have often wondered why would Christ ask the apostle "who do people say the Son of Man is". He knows everything. He knew what people think and say He is. So, why did He ask. He wanted the apostles to know Him and live by that knowledge. He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

Who is the Christ? In Mark Gospel, the Christ is one who accepts others: the Pharisees and the sinners. He is the true Son who obeys the Father and does His will. He is the One who suffers not for His own crimes but that of others. He is the One who rose from the death, Son of the Living God.

Notice He is Son, which makes us siblings of the Living God. We look up to Him. We learn from Him. We learn how to accept others, to obey the Father and to suffer with hope, knowing suffering doesn't have the last word. That pain will be changed to gain. That evil will be defeated.
