Capsule for the Day

Recently, I walked into a building site. I caught up with a guy demolishing an older building to make space for the new one. It didn't take the guy very long to demolish a building that took months to build. I was amazed at how fast he brought the building to ruin. He did it with ease.

Reflecting on this experience, I could imagine how easy it is for us demolish a person's good name or character. Often, we don't mind how long it took him or her to build his or her reputation. All we do care about is to pull him or her down. We use lies, we gossip and spread false rumours.

How I wish we could all care about the other; that we could consider the pain and agony our actions will cause him or her? There is no doubt we don't know the inside of another. But we could tap into it by asking ourselves, what if I am the one being pulled down, how would I feel?
