Capsule for the Day

We all react differently to troubles, trials and difficulties. For a majority of us, our immediate reaction is to return to our past, our old way of life. Like the Israelites in Exodus 14, we worry about the future. All we see is the present, and we conclude "the future wouldn't be any good". Anxiety!

We panic! Fair enough! Who wouldn't panic when the reality speaks of despair? But the point isn't about panic, it is about letting anxiety control our thinking and direct our lives. Life will always throw stuff at us and leave us with difficult questions, but we have to seek God’s answers. His counsel.

When Moses sought the Lord, He answered him. "Don't be afraid!" He said, "stand firm and see what the Lord will do to save you today. The Egyptians you see now, you will never see them again. The Lord will do the fighting for you: you have only keep still". The Lord will answer you too.
