Capsule for the Day
Doors, windows, they all lead us into a space or lead us out of it. There is often a sense of frustration when doors, for instance are closed against us; when we are denied access through the door. We feel powerless and we sometimes either walk away or find a way to open the door.
Beside the frustration, there is also the uncertainty. We do not know for sure what is on the other side of the door. We may pass through the door and meet fortune or misfortune. There is that grey area, that part of us we have to second guess. But we want to get in, we want the door open.
We pray for open-doors... we pray for breakthroughs, and we wait and wait, and typical of God's way, there is silence... we interpret the silence to mean NO. Imagine the man in the Gospel that waited for 38 years to get an answer. The door was closed, he kept knocking until it was opened.
