Homily - Daily Capsule - Fr Francis Afu

Capsule for the Day

He stood stark naked! No one could offer Him a garment to cover His nakedness. His only possession was taken away from Him, and lots were cast for it. But why would they strip off His garment? Why would they expose Him to the scorching sun? What was the point in all this?

Talking about nakedness, we can't ignore the many children exposed to exploitation and abuses in many homes, communities and nations. These children, like Christ, are robbed of their only possession - innocence, dignity and beauty. Are we going to be indifferent to them or clothe them?

Did He say whatever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters... you do it to Me? I was naked... you clothed me... "No, you actually stripped off my garment, left me naked and less human". What a shame! Does anyone care? Anyone ready to take the risk and clothe "the naked"?
