Capsule for the Day
Cross! Two chunks of wood placed on each other to map out the four poles - North, South, East and West. Imagine the waves, the pull from the different poles. And one man bore it all. He carried it! Yes, He carried it, not minding the pain, but bearing it in tears, with no bitterness nor anger.
Did He say we should carry our own crosses too? "I wonder if He really meant it". Who will carry those chunks of wood? Who will dare do it? But it is not just about the wood. It is the burden, the setbacks, the losses, the failures, and so on... all these have their own pull like the two chunks of wood.
He carried it. Yes, He carried it not with bitterness nor anger. Could this be a lesson for us? Oh! We could look at it this way; He carried the Cross, not the crosses of anger nor hatred towards those who condemn Him. In other words, He wants us to carry our own Cross, not crosses (Luke 9:23).
