Homily - Daily Capsule - Fr Francis Afu

Capsule for the Day

There was a man who wanted to please everyone. He woke up in the morning and he was told he was too short, and that wasn't a good sight. He went and made himself tall. By afternoon, he was told he was too tall, no one will marry him, he then reduced his height to medium size.

By evening he met a lady who said she loves only short people and if he was short she would have accepted his hand in marriage. He decided to make Himself short again, and by the time he met the lady in the morning, she politely said, I have changed my mind, I will like to marry a tall man.

What a life! No one can please everyone. Anyone who tries to please everyone ends up displeasing himself or herself. And God doesn't want this for us. We are better than this. We are good enough to be loved for who we are. We don't have to fit in with everybody's whims and caprices.
