This is My Body Given Up for You: Part 3

It is not uncommon in moments of crisis, especially one of the gravity of the recent scandals to give in to blaming. Ordinarily, we are a specie that points fingers. It started in the Garden of Eden. While the blaming may distance us from the problem, it doesn't seem to help the victims. Rather, it re-traumatises many victims and leaves them bleeding.

It boils down to one question - What do we want as a human community? Do we want our brothers and sisters to be healed? Do we want to put an end to abuse in all its shapes and sizes? Do we want to change the culture that birthed and nurtured abuse to maturity? If yes, are our present attitudes and processes helping to achieve our goal?

This is My Body given up for you is Christ's way of changing the culture. He gave up His own Body, that we, the victims of sin and evil may be healed and set free to live life to the full. He didn't sit back and point a finger. He set out and did what had to be done. Thus, He changed the culture. Now, if we are Christians, we have to follow in Christ's way.
