Capsule for the Day

Black Panther is an amazing movie. It tells a story within the big story. The words of Baba to the young king are worth reflecting on. "It is hard for a good man to be king". These words are ancient but ever new. Every "good man" who accepts to be king has it rough and tough. He literally battles with contrary forces. He struggles with the reality of evil.

Through baptism we assume the responsibility of king, prophet and priest. Our kingship reflects the Kingship of Christ, The Good Man. We all know how He lived, the battles He fought and how He ended. It was indeed hard for Him to be King. He was deeply hated and rejected by those who benefitted from His goodness. He was the "Good Man".

There are many of us going from one season of misfortune to another, not because we are bad people, but because we are good people like The Good Man. It is not uncommon to grow weary or fainthearted in this situation. However, the words of Hebrews 12:2-3 should be our strength "looking up to Christ, the poineer and perfecter of our faith...."
