Capsule for the Day
"Suffering is the default for love". This is so true. Everyone who loves suffers in one way or another. The cost of love is so high that many nowadays choose to be indifferent, to play the game and to try as much as possible to avoid falling in love. We find many a people choosing to be strictly professional as a way of avoiding the "four letter word".
In Tyler Perry's Acrimony, we find the drama of love being played out. Just as we love with intensity, we can also hate with the same intensity or even more. The turns and the twists of love often leaves us with so much disappointment, hatred and bitterness. But we feel this way because we love deeply. Love is a mystery. We won’t always get it.
But were we meant to understand love or simply to love? I guess we get it all wrong trying to get love right instead of loving. Love is always "full package". It comes with its joys and its sorrows. Trying to get the half package of joy without sorrow is the very definition of our troubles. Christ is the Model of love. He loves. He suffers. He rejoices.
