Capsule for the Day
Jeff Cavins has a way of communicating the truth of Scriptures. He said "You can never understand your story until you understand your story in His (Jesus) Story". But when we listen to His Story, there isn't really much to desire at the first instance. It is all about suffering, the reality of the cross. So, why bother about understanding your story in His Story?
Now, this is one question I would like you to sit with. The more we ask the question, the deeper we go, the more we appreciate Jeff's quote. For in His Story, we truly understand our own story of joy and sorrow, love and indifference, gratitude and ingratitude, forgiveness and bitterness etc. It is all in His Story: birth, journey, death, and resurrection.
The hardest part of our story is our journey. We often struggle to understand the vicissitudes of life. Why do good people suffer and the "bad guys" live life with so much joy and prosperity? It defies practical reason when you think of it. But His Story leads us beyond our own stories to the possibility of His Own Story - the reward for good people.
