Capsule for the Day

The merciful aren't just happy. They receive mercy in return for mercy. "Happy are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy". What a reward! Nothing can replace the certainty of being loved unconditionally. Nothing refutes the certainty that your act of mercy isn't in vain; that the Father knows and sees, and He is going to repay you for being merciful.

Grace experienced this reward. She is a mother of six. She lost her husband after the birth of her last child. Terrible experience! But more devastating was the fact that the last child had a degenerating disease. She received freelance advice to let the child die. "Mercy demands I take care of the weak, the vulnerable and defenceless", she reasoned.

Grace loved this child. She saw more than his disease. She saw a beautiful child struggling to survive and she determined to give him a chance to live. The child survived. 20 years later, he is the sole carer of Grace who is now suffering from dementia. Grace was merciful to him and through him, God has shown her mercy. Mercy begets mercy.
