Capsule for the Day

"You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden". Notice the description of the tree and the command not to eat of its fruit nor touch the tree. Why? We shall die. The tree has the knowledge of good and evil. God is that tree. To eat of the tree means to arrogate to ourselves the place of God; we stop being human. We die.

G. K. Chesterton puts it this way "when humanity assume the position of God, humanity dies". This is so true in our era where humanity is at the centre not God; where humanity is the determinant of good and evil. In this state, it is logical to conclude that God is the enemy of humanity. Thus, we try to get God as far away from us as possible.

Since God is the enemy, it means whoever is trying to be right with God is an enemy. "Happy are those persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven". Heaven is the place in God. It is a state where God is the centre. In other words, when we are persecuted for being right with God, we should be happy, for we are in God.
