Capsule for the Day
Right from the beginning, there have been strong battles between good and evil, between grace and sin. "While everybody tends to know what sin is", Mark Hart questions our knowledge of grace. Grace is something much more that gift. Grace is God's Life. Grace is God's Presence.
So, the battle between grace and sin is the battle between participating in the life of God and choosing to live without God. Now, to live without God doesn't mean God isn't present. But it means we don't need God. It means we want our independence of God. It means rejecting God and His Way.
Grace, God's Presence, on the other hand, finds us and brings us back to God like Moses in the burning bush experience. The Sacraments offer us a similar experience. There is an outward sign, the water, our confession and there is inward grace, God's Forgiveness and our response.
