Capsule for the Day
Life is full of dramas. We are constantly kept in suspense. Every minute or second plays a surprise scene that makes us wonder how on earth could we have seen this coming. It is called life, Grandma would say. Indeed it is life; the turn and the twist of events. They simply play out.
On the flip-side of the drama is our reception of the scenes or our playback. How do the dramas of life affect us? How do we respond to the scenes, to the surprises and more importantly, how do we become a character in the dramas of life? All this sounds like an enigma. Life....
Talking about response, it is very easy for us to turn our back against God when the drama is a tragedy. It is definitely His fault. Where was He? Why didn't He end the drama in comedy? This is where prayer becomes the plot... "bringing our real selves to the real God" (quote: Gerald O'Collins SJ)
